Del Mar Beach Parking and Dog Rules

Del Mar charges $4.24 an hour or $21.20 for the day to park at North Beach and at 17th Street, enforced from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Civic Center garage at 1050 Camino del Mar is free all day with a 72-hour limit. Dogs are not allowed in the Powerhouse Park playground or the grass beside it.Checked October 23, 2026.

Leashed dogs are allowed on walkways and sidewalks around the park. Leash no longer than six feet; license on the collar; fines start at $285. Service animals are allowed.

Off-Leash Beach

The City says Del Mar offers the only beach with off-leash hours in North County. We could not read the hours, so check the City page before bringing a dog.
