Queen Califia’s Magical Circle is a sculpture garden inside Kit Carson Park in Escondido, which the city calls the only American sculpture garden by its artist. It has nine large-scale sculptures, a circular snake wall and a maze entryway. Opening hours and admission are not confirmed, so check before you go.Checked October 23, 2026.

Before You Go
The garden is inside Kit Carson Park, which is open daily from sunrise to sunset. The garden may keep different hours, so check with the City of Escondido first.
What We Could Not Verify
- Opening hours, days open, admission, free days and the rain-closure rule: not confirmed on the city page.
- The website queencalifia.org, which the city once pointed visitors to, now describes itself as “an independent guide,” so we do not treat it as the garden’s official site and use none of its content.
- A third-party listing mentions a free Family Creativity Day on October 24, 2026. It is not confirmed on the garden’s or city’s own page, so we do not list it.
- Map point is borrowed from Kit Carson Park and is approximate.
