Stay Limits

Order 02-26-11 (July 17, 2026 to July 16, 2028) limits camping to 14 days per calendar year outside a developed campground, 14 inside one, and 28 total. It also sets a 14-day limit within 300 feet of a road. The main camping page still says “14 consecutive days in a calendar year”; the newer order, updated July 22, 2026, is used here.

Fire Rules Read 2026-10-23

The forest says wood or charcoal fires are never allowed outside developed campgrounds or picnic sites, though portable stoves or lanterns are permitted unless elevated fire conditions prohibit them. Order 02-26-10 (June 12 to December 31, 2026) also limits smoking to enclosed vehicles, buildings and listed sites. The forest does not manage cabins.

What We Could Not Verify

  • The permit fee: the page does not state it. The district office for the area you want can confirm.
  • Whether the older “14 consecutive days” wording on the camping page is outdated. The forest supervisor’s office can confirm; this page uses the order.
