Swimming and Snorkeling
The City says the cove is ideal for swimmers, snorkelers and scuba divers with small surf in summer, and that water visibility can sometimes exceed 30 feet. Winter surf can be larger, so read Rip Currents and Cliffs.
The Reserve
The cove is within the San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. Nothing may be fished or removed. More marine protected areas lie just north of La Jolla Shores. See Marine Protected Areas.
Sea Lions
The City refers to a separate page on sea lions at Point La Jolla. That page was not read. Keep a respectful distance from all wildlife. No distance in feet was confirmed.
