What It Is

A 27-acre historic park in Carlsbad. Start at the Visitor Center Barn, which the City says has a small gift shop, refreshments, the Kindle Theater (exhibits and film) and park information. You can walk, bike, jog or picnic in designated areas.

Tours

Weekend tours are free and last about 60 to 90 minutes. Meet at the welcome kiosk in the parking lot. No reservation is stated for the weekend or botanical tours; groups of more than ten schedule a private tour.

Hours Conflict Resolved

An outside listing had suggested a Monday closure. The City of Carlsbad’s own page says open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., so this page follows the City. Weather closures apply, so call 442-339-5042 on wet days.

What We Could Not Verify

  • Grounds admission is not stated on the City page. Not confirmed; the City of Carlsbad can confirm.
  • Whether the visitor center and building interiors are open on a given day is not confirmed; the City says only that they open intermittently.
  • Whether it suits all ages is not stated beyond the City’s terrain and supervision notes.
  • No map point: coordinates were not confirmed.
